I haven't been sculpting as much because it is expensive to cast a piece in bronze. My work is very representational, so it will be interesting to see how much detail I can maintain in my work using this process. Full time painter/artist. 3D is my favourite art form but due to limited access to a foundry and kilns over the past 10 years I have developed my painting. I still long for clay though. I have recently discovered paperclay and there is not enough time in the day to explore all the images i have conjured up and not been able to execute in the past 20 years. I stumbled across this website in an effort to find a medium that I could use with more satisfaction than with regular earth clay and I am so glad to have found this one. It seems that Lorri has already been through what I am taking on now. Trying to find a medium that can be used to create sculpture that is more free form and can be spread out and natural without having to make molds....which I hate doing. I am looking forward to taking the online course and learning as much as possible. |

After raising a family of five children, my masterpieces at the time, I returned to oil and pastel painting, teaching, exhibiting, winning an award here and there. But sculpture kept calling my name until I finally heard it, responded, and now I can only sculpt! (Oh, and draw which is a first cousin to sculpting - but that's another story.)
